ROAR - Life is Wild and God is Good!

Make our VBS the mane event! This epic African adventure engages the whole herd. At Roar, kids explore God’s goodness and celebrate a ferocious faith that powers them through this wild life.

Who can come to ROAR VBS?  Kids ages 3 years old through kids who just finished 6th grade are welcome.

Each evening will begin at 5:45 with our Hungry Herd Cafe which will offer a light dinner for parents and their children - a $1.00 donation will be accepted but not required.

Church Security Training


Location: Hope Church, 4200 Brown Road, Berkley, MO 6313

ST. LOUIS CHURCHES have been invited to Hope Church for this dynamic training.

The Church Security Planning and Intruder Awareness training equips participants to create a personalized security plan that protects the congregation while maintaining a welcoming environment. You can choose from a 1- or 2-day option, but both days are recommended and the subjects interrelate.

Day 1 Overview: Church Security Planning
At the end of the day, you’ll be thoroughly equipped to begin (or re-launch or improve) your church security ministry. Each participant will leave with a comprehensive, practical 75-page workbook.

We’ll address key topics including:
• Intruder response
• Lockdown
• Offering collection, protection, and transport
• Nursery security
• Medical response
• Volunteer selection
• Armed vs. unarmed security
• Protecting the pastor
• The role of ushers and greeters






Day 2 Overview: Intruder Awareness/Response and Conflict Management
Equip and empower your frontline team (security volunteers, ushers, greeters) to spot and stop trouble before it starts. This training helps team members identify suspicious behavior and act peacefully and proactively with the goal of de-escalating potential conflicts.


Key topics will include:
• Creating a culture of awareness
• Lockdown
• Recognizing suspicious behavior
• Approaching suspicious or armed individuals
• Verbal conflict management & de-escalation
• The role of ushers, greeters and other frontline team members

Join us for a great breakfast and a message from Pastor Warren. Phil has served as a pastor for 33 years and is currently pastor of Westside General Baptist Church. He attended Oakland City University. Phil has served in many capacities including: the Unites States Army military police stationed in Korea, a supervisor on the F-15 for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, Director of Congregational Ministries for General Baptist, and a missionary to the Philippines. He has been married for 24 years and has 6 children and 10 grandchildren.

We are thankful for all that the Lord has provided throughout 2018.  Join us for this special service.  It is a family favorite at Hope Church.  

Share testimonies of how the Lord has worked in your life throughout the year.  Request your favorite hymn.  Share your favorite verse.

Join us afterward for donuts and coffee.

There will be game booths, face painting, inflatables and lots of yummy food and candy!!  Children of all ages (yes, that means you grownups, too!) are invited.  Little ones will enjoy our Preschool Punkin’ Patch.

We’ll roast hot dogs, make S’mores, play some Glow in the Dark games, have sidewalk chalk and bubbles for the kids and enjoy God’s creation and the cooler temperatures with your Hope Church friends. 

Bring your lawn chair and meet on the back field.
