The events in Ferguson, New York (Staten Island) and abroad have reopened wounds that many of us mistakenly thought had healed.
What does that have to do with GRACISM?
The definition of GRACISM is the intentional distributing or giving out to others, the very GRACE that was shown toward you through JESUS CHRIST, especially those who may look, talk, or live differently than you.
Christ calls us to be ministers of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18). That means we have to acknowledge there is brokenness in all of our relationships, the world, and us. We are then called to confession of sin (fears, racism, prejudices, biases, etc.) so that we (all of us) may experience the healing power of JESUS CHRIST.
The upcoming GRACISM gatherings are a step in that direction. These gatherings, this experience will ultimately leave you with a heart more like that of CHRIST's toward all of mankind. This is what we are called to do as believers in CHRIST (Colossians 3 and John 13:34-35).
These seven GRACISM gatherings will be engaging, informative, life transforming, healing, fun, and challenging. Each gathering consists of a shared meal, Biblical teaching, small group and one-on-one discussion.
We will meet on Sunday after church at approximately 12:00pm and end at approximately 1:30pm. We encourage participants to bring a dish to share with others. Childcare is available upon request.
Gracism gatherings meeting on the 3rd Sunday of each month from September 2015 to April 2016
